Lip Pigmentation |Permanent Makeup
Lip pigmentation is commonly known as permanent makeup. This is also known as intradermal pigmentation or micropigmentation. This is really a revolutionary method that has tremendous impact on the world of beauty and specially cosmetology.
In a layman’s language this means inserting color into the upper dermal layer of the skin.
The equipment and pigment used are specifically designed to give natural enhancement of the facial feature of eyebrow, eyeliner and full lip correction with enrichment of natural hue of the lips.
Today’s modern women use permanent make up procedure to highlight, correct or improve natural facial features. The most commonly used and cosmetically enhanced body parts are eyebrows, lash lines and of course the lips.
Intradermal pigmentation or micropigmentation is considered completely safe in today’s medically advanced age.
The experience even though not very pleasant and relaxing, the long term benefits and psychological satisfaction outweigh the discomfort. But a question arises here………..If it is not a pleasant experience why women opt for it?
To get the answer let us first look into the process of intradermal pigmentation.
This includes a variety of steps and each step requires taking some deliberate decisions.
In case of application of normal cosmetics like lipsticks or eyeliners if you are not satisfied with the result you can wipe out with a tissue paper and go for another shade or style of make up. But this is not so in case of intradermal pigmentation.
This is the reason why you should ask several questions to yourself and be completely sure of your action before you take the plunge.
Questions………..
1. Why do I want to undergo this procedure?
What result am I expecting?
2. Do I understand that it is permanent and cannot be reversed?
3. Am I comfortable dealing with some pain for a minimal period of time?
4. What exactly do I want to change?
Even though the answers are obvious for one who has already made up his/her mind to go through the whole gamut it is useful to mentally walk through each step to be prepared psychologically for the entire process.
But why do people want to go through such a far from pleasant experience for the sake of beauty when there is such a huge range of high end, good quality cosmetics available.
I did some research, contacted a few friends who have actually gone through the procedure and here is the result.
Need For Intradermal Pigmentation(Permanent Make up )
People, both men and women undergo intradermal pigmentation for a lot of reasons.
1. Some persons have very sparse eyebrows or no visible eyebrows at all…..Usually people who have lost their eyebrow hair due to Radiology or Chemotherapy.
Those with sparse or no eyebrows appreciate the visible difference permanent cosmetics makes. The brow can be filled completely to create a “new” brow, or single hairs can be added to create an illusion of fullness. People with graying eyebrows may even consider having the gray replaced with a color matching their natural brow shade.
2. Strange may as it sound some women are allergic to basic ingredients of cosmetics or suffer from seasonal allergies. They find it very difficult to use minimal required make up.
I have a friend who loves to use eye make up but cannot because it itches and irritates her eyes.
Women who use contact lenses also find it difficult to use eye liner etc. Whether a dark, bold line or a soft, natural one, permanent eyeliner can have a dramatic impact on the overall look of the face. In this process, the pigment is implanted along the lash line.
3. Some lead a very busy life and have no time to do a full make up every day and do touch up to maintain it.
I am one of those ………But I cannot bear the pain this procedure entails…….So it is not my cup of tea……..
4. There are athletes who do a lot of physical exertion and sweat a profusely……..in the process ruining their makeup. Permanent makeup is just the right thing for them.
5. This procedure is also a great boon to swimmers who do not have to worry about washed up make up.
6. Re-pigmentation of scar due to accidents or burn is a great psychology booster.
7. There are women with decreased or no visual or motor skill.
These problems make daily application of make up for them really difficult or dependent on others. Micropigmentation comes handy for them.
8. From aesthetic point of view pigmentation of lips will give more definition to the vermilion boarder.
Micro-pigmentation of lips can correct irregular lip lines; asymmetry, cleft lips, enhances lost lip color, and adds definition and fullness. It also eliminated the problem of lipstick running outside lip lines.
Lip Care for Pigmented Lips………….
One very important point to be remembered after lip pigmentation is taking due lip care
as suggested by the technician.
Otherwise all the effort and pain gone through the procedure will be in vain and you may end up frustrated as the desired result will not be achieved.
In fact lip care is the most important agenda that you should consider after the technician has done his job. The proper and required steps will be informed to you by the technician.
I will be writing my next post on this subject. I consider it very important that to get complete satisfaction and the desired look you want from the procedure you must take due care of your pigmented lips.
