Lip Brushes|Why you need one

When we see professional make up artists applying make up to the lip area, they always use a lip brush. Although they do make most lip colors in a stick form and they appear to be angled correctly for a better application, using a lip brush makes the lips actually look better.
When you use a lip brush you will be using less lip stick. This can be more economical and you can use your favorite color for a longer period of time. You can also contour your lips with an accuracy you would not get from a regular lip stick. If you have any small imperfection you can correct the problem by using a lip brush slightly to cover an area. If you try to attempt this with lip stick, you will end up making a big mess and usually you will have to start the entire lip process over again. If you want more control when attempting to use lip stick and you want an even coat of color, then a lip brush is the answer.

How to Use a Lip Brush

To apply lip stick using a lip brush, dab the brush with color. Start on the center of your bottom lip and use small side to side strokes for an all over, even coverage. Be careful when you come to the sides of the lip area. Use the color sparingly and keep adding strokes until the area is completely covered with color. Use the same process for your top lip. If you are using a lip liner, make sure to outline your lips before you use any color. This gives you a perfect outline to follow.

How to Select the Perfect Lip Brush

When purchasing a lip brush make sure that it has a pointed or flat tip. If contouring your lip is a problem, the pointed edge should work better for a more precise application. If you just want a lip brush to control the amount of lip stick you are using, then a flat tipped brush should work just fine for you.

How To Clean Your Lip Brush

You should clean your lip brush thoroughly every two weeks. Use a little shampoo or specially made brush cleaner to clean gently off any remaining lip stick and make sure to rinse the brush completely. Then take the brush and lightly wipe it with a towel. This also helps to stop any shedding that might occur from frequent use. Make sure that after you clean your lip brush you give it ample time to dry before using it again.

Some Popular Lip Brush Products

Sephora is a company that specializes in make up and all make up products. They have a large selection of lip brushes. They are reasonably priced and some have the special features such as retractable brushes and decorative covers. They have a good assortment of pointed or tipped angle brushes for professional contouring and will easily fit in any make up bag. They also have a selection of inexpensive brush kits that you can use for any make up need.

There is no longer any reason to avoid using a lip brush. Most are inexpensive and easy to use, once you are familiar with them. They make contouring a breeze and take your lips to a new level, giving them a professional, clean and luscious look.
